About Carolyn Ross
My Dogs, My Greatest Teachers
Dogs have been my lifelong companions, teachers, and inspiration. Living and learning alongside many different dogs—each with their own personality and challenges—has given me a deep appreciation for what it means to be a dog in a human world. Through them, I’ve learned patience, empathy, humility, and the power of clear, kind communication. They have taught me to live in the present and value the simple joys of life.
This lifelong passion led me to become a professional dog trainer and educator, dedicated to helping dogs and their people build strong, respectful, and joyful partnerships.

Life With Dogs
Sharing life outdoors with my dogs is a core part of who I am. We enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing together—activities that require strong communication, trust, and reliable off-leash skills.
Every dog I work with teaches me something new. I love exploring new training techniques, testing them with my own dogs, and sharing what works with my students and clients.

About Jeremy Shaw
Jeremy currently lives in Buxton, ME with his four dogs, cat, and chickens. His passion for animal behavior led him to the University of Maine where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. While in college, he volunteered at the Bangor Humane Society and his passion for dogs was born. After school he worked as a Veterinary Assistant, Surgery Assistant, and earned his grooming certification.
His love of dog training developed when an unruly and destructive lab mix entered his life, leading him to take obedience classes. Patient and compassionate, Jerry seems to have a special affinity for bringing out the best in dogs who come to him lacking in confidence.
His love of learning about dog behavior soon brought him to competitive dog sports. He competes primarily in agility, rally, flyball, and scent work. In 2021 he earned his CATCH (CPE Agility Trial Championship) with his Miniature American Shepherd Apollo.
He is a past president of a local dog club and trial secretary for local shows.
Jerry is currently a licensed Wag It Games Instructor and Judge for DogBall, Sniff-It, and Smart Dogs, as well as an Agility Judge for Teacup Dog Agility Association.
We are delighted to have Jerry as a member of our team!
